Mullenax Ranch is a highland cattle breeder from Tehachapi CA. This small family-owned farm raises and sells Scottish highland cattle, Nigerian dwarf goats, poultry, waterfowl, sheep, and others. 

Mullenax Ranch offers both registered and unregistered highland calves and their price ranges from $2,000 to $10,000. Payments are in cash only at pick-up; you can pay for deposits ($500) via cash or checks. 

You will need to pay a non-refundable deposit to reserve a calf – they do not require you to have previous cattle ownership which is excellent if you are thinking of starting a herd of your own for the first time. However, you will still need another animal as they do not sell to ‘single cow households’.
