1. Millermeade Farm’s Critter Connection

White Hedgehog

Located in Montpelier, Ohio, Millermeade Farm’s Critter Connection is a hedgehog breeder, seller, and educator.

The owner is Gail Miller and she started the farm in 1997 with just 3 hedgehogs.

She is very passionate about producing quality pet hedgehogs and does her best to educate new owners about hedgehog care.

The farm breeds year-round and often has hedgehog babies available for Christmas – remember that it’s their busiest time of year and that hedgehogs are not recommended as Christmas gifts.

They keep a waiting list and require a $25 dollar deposit on the animal to give you a priority in selecting a hoglet – your deposit is later deducted from the hedgehog’s total price.

The breeder offers a shipping option via airline for orders of 6 hedgehogs or more and an opportunity to deliver the animal to you ($50 per hour of drive time (one way) with a minimum of $150).

Millermeade Farm also offers a Pick-from-3 discount plan where you have the opportunity to choose a baby from a group of 3.

They accept payments in VISA/MC, and full payments via PayPal for an additional $10 advance paperwork charge per hedgehog. They do not accept personal checks not offer payment plans.

When paying in cash, you get a $5 discount.

Their website is up-to-date; make sure to check their Facebook page as well.

2. HuckStar Hedgehogs

To purchase a hedgehog from the breeder, you will need to be over the age of 18 or have a parent or guardian fill out your application.

HuckStar Hedgehogs offers a shipping option for a minimum of 3 hedgehogs – if interested, contact them for a quote (costs can include the flight, cost of the crate, veterinary check, or fuel).

They do not sell opposite-sex pairs or breeder hoglets and you are not allowed to breed any pet hedgehogs you purchase from them.

In case you are no longer able to take care of the hedgehog, they will take the animal back – no refunds are available.

They keep a waiting list, you will need to fill out their application, and pay a non-refundable $50 deposit.

Payments are via PayPal, Venmo, check, or money order.
